This is the more laid back option that we would suggest for most people wanting to experience the beautiful blooms. This tour focuses on areas along or near the Blue Ridge Parkway and involves less hiking than our Linville mini-workshop option. 3 spaces per tour. During check out there is an option to request a private tour if you prefer. These tours will likely sell out!
The Spring Rhododendron Tours happen rain or shine. Some of the best images of these flowery scenes can be made immediately after an afternoon rain shower which are pretty common at that time of the year. Bring gear to protect your camera gear. You can buy a set of dry bags at Walmart for $7 and they work wonderfully.

Spring Rhododenron Workshops & Tours
These workshop-style rhododendron tours take you to epic locations across Western North Carolina where the blooms are at their peak.
This is our favorite time of the year! The beauty is short-lived but we love shooting the Spring Rhododendron flower blooms! For our Spring Rhododendron Photo Tour, we show you to the locations in the Blue Ridge Mountains where the blooms are at their peak and teach you how to best capture the beauty of the Rhododendrons.

For the Linville Gorge edition of our Spring Rhododendron Offerings, we set out for an adventurous full-day trip to Linville Gorge for a mini-workshop. This rugged landscape makes for incredible landscape photography. We’ll show you how to properly photograph this beautiful place!
These special Linville tours are not private, but are limited to two customers per day. Like the Spring Rhododendron Tours, this mini-workshop happens rain or shine. Spaces are limited to two people per day, and is only offered for three days of the year. We are trying to minimize our impact to this wild and scenic location.
The Linville Gorge Wilderness is a rugged area. Hiking is necessary to access any of the spots worth photographing. None of the hiking options are considered “easy”. We consider the trails to be moderate, with some short stretches of the trail being difficult. Given that this is a full-day tour, we may hit up a couple of different locations in the Linville Gorge, hiking up to 3 miles in one day. In other words, you should be in good shape and capable of doing a fair amount of hiking with all of your camera gear. If this does not sound like a good option for you, you should consider our standard Spring Rhododendron Tour, focusing on areas long the Blue Ridge Parkway. Driving time to the Linville tour is approximately 1.5 hours to and from Asheville for a total of three hours.
