Linville Gorge Blooms Mini-Workshops
Running May 8th, 2025
Workshop duration: 8 hours total, including 3 hours of round-trip driving
$225/person
Hiking: 2 miles, with some strenuous sections.
What’s included: photography lessons, water, and snacks.
For the Linville Gorge edition of our Spring Rhododendron Offerings, we set out for an adventurous full-day trip to Linville Gorge. This rugged landscape makes for incredible landscape photography. We’ll show you how to properly photograph this beautiful place!
Due to damage from Hurricane Helene, we are only doing ONE DAY of this mini-workshop in 2025, at one location in the Gorge. These special Linville tours are not private, but are limited to two customers per day. We are trying to minimize our impact to this wild and scenic location and allow room for rebuilding this wilderness.
What to expect:
The Linville Gorge Wilderness is a rugged area. Hiking is necessary to access any of the spots worth photographing. None of the hiking options are considered “easy”. We consider the trails to be moderate, with some short stretches of the trail being difficult. Given that this is a full-day workshop, we may hit up a couple of different locations in the Linville Gorge, hiking up to 2 miles in one day. In other words, you should be in good shape and capable of doing a fair amount of hiking. If this does not sound like a good option for you, you should consider our standard Spring Rhododendron Tour, focusing on areas long the Blue Ridge Parkway. Driving time to the Linville tour is approximately 1.5 hours to and from Asheville for a total of three hours.
